Dive Certification (6 and older)

**To ensure the safety of our swimmers, swimmers must be certified to start a race by diving into the pool.**

Q: What does this mean?

A: A qualified professional will instruct, assess, and declare your child certified to dive! It’s that simple.

Q: Can my swimmer still race if he/she is not certified?

A: Of course, it just means that they cannot dive into the pool. 

Q: What if my child is already certified?

A: If your child was certified in previous years, we have good news: it carries over! We have a list of all of the people who have met the requirements for certification and have been signed off. If you are unsure of status, shoot us an email and we can check!

Q: How do we get certified?

A: There are a couple of options for those of you requiring certification.

-If you would like your child to be certified before the first meet and are free this Saturday (tomorrow), the Cherokee Aquatic Center is holding dive certification sessions. These are inexpensive ($3-5) and will mean that there is one less thing for you to think about once summer swim starts. There are also sessions available in mid-May!

-If you cannot make these sessions we have some great news: our very own Coach Luke will be holding a certification session at our neighborhood pool on June 4^th (picture day) after we have had our pictures taken.
