Attendance: Attendance will be taken at practice for informational purposes only. Upon arrival for practice next week, coaches will assign lanes to swimmers that they will use for the duration of the season during practice.

Swim Suits: Any swim suits may be worn during practice. During meets, girls should wear a one-piece black swimsuit; boys should wear a black pair of “jammers” available at most sporting goods stores, as well as online at Amazon, Swimoutlet.com, etc. Swimmers may also wear previous seasons’ Tidal Waves suits.

Pool Usage: We know this is a hard one, but the main pool and kiddie pool is off limits except for the athletes in the water for practice. Please keep siblings or swimmers not in a practice session on the pool deck only and not in any area of the pool/kiddie pool.

Meet Schedule: We will have four home “virtual” meets this season, meaning only the Tidal Waves will attend the meet and swim against each other. Times will be compared to our opponent’s times to determine final placing/scoring. Schedule is as follows; note that our last meet is Thursday, June 24 rather than Tuesday, June 22 as previously listed.

June 3

June 10

June 17

June 24

Volunteers: We will once again require parent volunteers to help run our meets, but with this new virtual format the positions may be different. We’ll communicate volunteer roles and how to sign up prior to our first swim meet.

Coordinators: The Tidal Waves are run by a committee of volunteer parents: Lori & Ted Powell, Megan Bondi, Jen Sposito, Shawna Herring and Kelli Heath. You will find one (or more) of us at each practice. We look forward to meeting the new faces and seeing the returning families!

Coaches: We are thrilled to have four returning coaches and the addition of a new junior coach. This season Nicole Pullen will serve as head coach, with assistant coaches Abby Modlinski, Ava Springer and Nicole Brown, as well as junior coach Brooke Miller. Our coaches are focused on the safety and instruction of the swimmers; please direct any questions or concerns to the coordinators staffing each practice.

Communication: Email is our primary form of communication during the season. For last minute changes, such as practice canceled due to weather, meet signup reminders, etc, we will also use Remind 101: text @tlhswim to 81010 to join our list. You can also follow us on Instagram @tlh_tidal_waves and Facebook @tlhtidalwaves

Sponsors: We are honored to have great community support from our swim team sponsors. Most of these businesses are owned by local Towne Lake Hills neighbors and many have swimmers on our team! Please support them as they support us!

COVID-BASED PROCEDURES

Attendance taken at each practice.

Coaches will be temperature checked prior to each practice/meet.

Swimmers will have lane assignments to maintain all season. We will do our best to monitor close contacts in the water, but outside of the water it will be parents’ responsibility and judgement to enforce social distancing.

Swim practices will not overlap in the water; one group will be done before the next group begins.

Kickboards will be sanitized following each age group session and not shared among swimmers during their sessions.

Parents will monitor their children for temps and/or COVID symptoms and are to not send them to practice/meets if there is any question. Also, if kids miss school due to illness, they are to not attend swim practice.

Parents should also alert coordinators if their child tests positive or is in quarantine; CDC guidelines are to be followed for these situations.

Coaches are not mandated to wear masks. Also, they may need to assist with swimmers in the water which necessitates close contact. Coaches will have access to hand sanitizer at all times.

We are excited to dive in next week!! See you on the pool deck!
