Thanks for a great first week of practice! We hope everyone who attended had fun despite the water temps (brrrr)! We know many kids are finishing spring sports and activities, so we look forward to seeing everyone else once they can make it.

Practice Times: We are making a slight modification to our May practice times moving forward. See below:

6&Under: 4:00-4:30PM

7&8: 4:30-5:00PM

9&10: 5-5:45PM

11&Up: 5:45PM-6:45PM (no change to time) 

Dive Certification: This Thursday, May 20, we will be doing dive certification during normal practice times. Athletes must be certified before they can start races by diving. If they are not certified or do not wish to dive start, they can start from the wall. Some swimmers whom we have record of being previously certified do not need to go through this process. We will let you know early this week if your swimmer has been previously certified.

Note: there will still be a regular practice session while dive certification is taking place.

*Please make every effort to attend; your child may come and do this at any time from 3:45-6pm even if they cannot stay to practice. Certification only takes a few minutes.

Sportsmanship: Team spirit and sportsmanship are going to be an emphasis in practice this week so we can set the tone for the season. We want all swimmers to encourage and support one another. We are proud of every athlete that shows up and braves the cold May water to practice, regardless of ability level. It’s important that all the swimmers lift one another up and we hope that parents will emphasize this important value as well.

Gear:

• Swim caps will be provided by the first swim meet.
• We have a lost and found bin that will be by the gate during practice as we often find towels, flip flops, goggles, etc after practice.
• If you have swim team swim suits your child has outgrown, feel free to drop them with the coordinators. We are offering them to parents so they go to good use!
