Happy Friday and Happy Birthday to Coach Sarah!! 

We are in the homestretch of swim season with just two meets to go: Thursday, June 23 (away) and Tuesday, June 28 (home)! Both meets are open for signups and volunteers. Please help us out at swim meets by volunteering your time. 

Next week's 6/23 meet is AWAY at Woodmont: 102 Chadwyck Lane, Canton, GA. Sign up swimmers for this meet by Tuesday at 10:30AM. 

Reminder on ASA / GRPA Meets: we must know by TODAY, 6/17 if you are interested. Please respond if you are - all additional info will only go to the parents we hear from. Details are below.

ASA/GRPA INFO

Here is some information about opportunities for your kids to compete beyond the Tidal Waves summer season. Please review the information and RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL BY FRIDAY, JUNE 17 IF INTERESTED IN EITHER OPPORTUNITY. Responding is not a firm commitment, but we need a tentative head count for the ASA meet and can pass along more details to you directly for the GRPA meet(s).

• ASA Divisional Meet at Georgia Tech
  • Saturday, July 2, 10:30AM
  • Warmups begin 60-90 minutes prior to the start
  • Swimmers may swim 2 individual events and 2 relays (relays TBD based on team participation numbers)
  • Entry fee is $35 per swimmer plus an additional cost for coaches (total TBD)
  • Entry to this is done through the Tidal Waves. We will have a coach on site to help manage the swimmers. Additional information: https://asa.swimtopia.com/championship
• GRPA Qualifier & State Meet at Cherokee County Aquatic Center
  • Cherokee County Qualifier Meet: July 9 at 10AM
  • Swimmers can swim 4 individual events (swimmers select them upon registration)
  • Entry fee: $6 for meet + $7 per event. Qualifier is for individual events - no relays at this meet - but swimmers may be assigned to a state relay team even if they do not qualify for an individual event.
  • There are optional practices leading up to the qualifier and state meet (i.e. bonus swim practice).
  • If swimmers qualify for State, the state meet is July 22 (10 & under) and July 23 (11 & up) – also held at Cherokee County Aquatic Center
  • *Please do not participate in the qualifying meet if you are unavailable for the State Meet
  • Entry is done individually. There are not Tidal Waves coaches on site; it’s run as an invitational through Cherokee Rec. More info: https://asa.swimtopia.com/grpa-state-and-state-qualifying
